Morning Surprise for a Mt. Prospect Apartment Building
According to the Chicago Tribune, A woman accidentally backed her van into an apartment in northwest suburban Mount Prospect this morning as she was preparing to leave for work.
She was backing out of her parking space outside her home in the 1400 block of Cottonwood Lane. The woman lost control when she began to feel dizzy, said a Mount Prospect police officer.
She turned the steering wheel and accidentally stepped on the accelerator and struck a parked car, causing her van to make a U-turn, Wagner said. The rear of the van crashed through the windows of a ground-level apartment, Wagner said.
No one was injured. “We got lucky. There could have been more injuries,” Wagner said.”Thankfully, no one else was hurt.”
The woman was taken to a hospital for observation.
