Mount Prospect Man Killed in Crash
A motorist identified as Steven L. Banks 32, of the 1100 block of Boxwood Drive in Mount Prospect, was killed in Palatine Friday morning during a three-car crash.
Palatine Fire Department responded to a report of a car crash involving three vehicles at 5:56am Friday morning at the intersection of Euclid and Quentin in Palatine.
It appears that Banks was the driver of a 2004 Chevy Impala which was traveling westbound on Euclid when it went through a red light and struck a 2001 Chevy AT&T van driven by a 69-year-old male driver that was going southbound on Quentin. The impact sent the Impala into the eastbound lane of Euclid where it struck a 2004 red Saab driven by a 59-year-old Hoffman Estates woman. The other two drivers were not hurt.
Police said all indications at this point in the investigation show that Banks was not wearing a safety belt.
